What are soft cable ties?

Soft cable ties, often also called flexible cable ties, are cable ties made of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane). They are designed to stretch and adapt easily without damaging the cables or exerting excessive pressure on them.

Advantages of soft cable ties

1. Gentle on cables: one problem with using polyamide cable ties is that, if tightened too much, they can damage the insulation of cables or crush the cables. Soft TPU cable ties minimise this risk thanks to their flexible nature.

2. Reusability: the soft GT Soft cable ties are designed so that they can easily be opened and reused. This makes them not only more environmentally friendly but also more cost-efficient, especially in environments where cables frequently need to be reorganised.

3. Resistance to chemicals: soft TPU cable ties have good resistance to a wide range of chemicals, making them ideal for demanding industrial environments.

4. Vibration protection: in industrial environments where machines run and vibrations are omnipresent, soft cable ties offer better protection against vibration damage thanks to their elastic properties.

Applications in industry

From the automotive industry to electronics manufacturing, soft TPU cable ties find a wide range of applications:

Automation technology: here cables are frequently reorganised when machines are reconfigured or updated. The reusability and flexibility of soft cable ties is particularly valuable here.
Electronics manufacturing: when assembling electronic devices, soft cable ties can help protect sensitive electronic components from damage.
Aerospace: in a sector where every gram counts and reliability is of paramount importance, soft cable ties offer a light and secure solution for cable organisation.
