Heat-shrink tubing made of Viton – advantages of the high-performance material

What is VITON?

Viton is a brand name for a group of fluoroelastomers (FKM) known for their excellent resistance to high temperatures, chemicals and solvents. *Viton™ is a trademark of The Chemours Company FC, LLC

Heat-shrink tubing made of Viton – what advantages does the material offer?

Viton heat-shrink tubing is frequently used in industrial applications, especially in aerospace, the oil and gas industry as well as in the automotive and electronics industries.

The advantages of Viton heat-shrink tubing are manifold. One of the most important advantages is its resistance to high temperatures and aggressive chemicals. This makes it well suited to applications for which conventional heat-shrink tubing is not suitable.

Viton heat-shrink tubing also has high mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, which makes it more resistant to damage and wear. It is also UV-resistant, which means it is not destroyed by sunlight or other radiation sources.

In addition, Viton heat-shrink tubing has low thermal conductivity, which means that it does not release heat as quickly at high temperatures and can therefore serve as an insulator.

Overall, Viton as a material for heat-shrink tubing offers an excellent combination of resistance, durability and flexibility that can be of great benefit in many industrial applications.
