GT UV – UV-resistant cable ties

The GT UV cable ties are the right choice for outdoor applications.

The UV-resistant cable ties are made of high-quality polyamide 6.6W and, thanks to an added additive, offer particularly good resistance to UV rays.

Especially in the field of photovoltaics, UV-resistant cable ties must be used in order to bundle cables and wires safely and reliably even under intense sunlight.

BIT CABLE TIES PA66W – BLACK AND UV-RESISTANT

Cable ties made of UV-resistant polyamide 6.6 (PA66W) are manufactured with an increased carbon black content and withstand UV radiation in Europe considerably longer than PA66.

All UV-resistant cable ties from BIT have successfully passed the latest UV test procedure according to UL 62275 11.1.2 and are certified accordingly. The xenon arc radiation corresponds to method A of ISO 4892-2.

This part of ISO 4892 specifies the procedures in which test specimens are exposed to xenon arc radiation and moisture in a device in order to reproduce the weathering effects (temperature, humidity and/or wetting) that occur when materials are exposed to global radiation in real end-use environments.

The ISO 4892-2-A method (artificial irradiation with xenon arc radiation for 1,000 hours) corresponds to a service life of approx. 7–10 years under normal UV radiation in Europe.

For outdoor use, e.g. in PV systems, we therefore recommend our UV-resistant cable ties made of PA66W.
